About Rudy
Rudy was born and raised in Fort Bend County
and resides in Sugar Land. Rudy is a graduate of Lamar Consolidated High
School, Wharton County Junior College, University of Houston and Indiana
School of Law in Bloomington, Indiana. He is married to Yingchu Chang
Velasquez and they have two children, Aileen and Kevin.
Rudy has been licensed as an attorney for 22 years. Six years in private
law practice handling criminal cases, juvenile, family, probate and
civil matters. He regularly tried cases in the District, County Courts,
and Justice of the Peace Courts. He spent four years in the Fort Bend
County District Attorney’s Office. Rudy is employed with the City of
Houston, Legal Department where he has handled complex civil litigation
in both the Federal and State District Courts.
Rudy brings years of experience to his campaign to serve the people of
Fort Bend County. His goal is to provide fair, just and equal
enforcement of the laws of the State of Texas. He is committed to
improving the efficiency and effectiveness of County Court at Law #1.
